2nd Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design
Hidden Dreams
This is a story of one family, during which the deepest layers of subconscious are gradually opened. Deepest dreams hidden in the subconscious level are transformed into massages, which create a dialogue between the society and individuals. The problem of infringement of women rights concerning education and forced early marriages is raised during the dialogue.
In October 2018, the 2nd Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design, organized by the Valerian Gunia Union of Young Theatre Artists and the OISTAT National Centre of Georgia took place. Representatives from 7 countries, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Canada and Hungry took part in the event.
The main purpose of the Biennale was to create opportunities for young stage designers to develop professionally. Within the frameworks of Biennale, the Regional Forum of Young Performing and Visual Artists took place, during which the trends and problems of contemporary theater development were discussed. Also master classes were organized with Pamela Howard (UK), Yaron Abulafia (Netherlands), Romana Bošković Živanović (Serbia) and other specialists.
This time as well Armenia’s participation to Tbilisi Biennale of Stage Design was organized by Scenolab Art Laboratory. Armenia chose the topic “Hidden Dreams”, which was based on Theater 8’s performance called “7 days to go”.
