Scenolab scenography laboratory started it’s activity in 2010 as a free laboratory, collaborating with a number of festivals and foundations. It had a clear goal, to develop modern scenography in Armenia and to establish international cooperations. As a result, Scenolab organized Armenia’s first participation in the largest and unique festival of theatrical arts, Prague Quadrennial 2011, with a performance called “Removing Dust From Our Memory”, and then in Prague Quadrennial 2015, in collaboration with “Eiva” arts foundation Scenolab presented an installation called “Red hail… because it never ends”. Another project implemented by Scenolab is “SheLL”, a performance, which was presented as a scenographic installation in Tbilisi biennale of stage design in 2016. In the second biennale of stage design, held in Tbilisi, Armenia participated with a performance called “Hidden Dreams”.
Scenolab Scenography Laboratory has been transformed into a non-profit organization since 2018, expanding its field of activities, but staying close to its main principe: creating a free platform for art-society dialogue. In our opinion, nothing can change the society faster than art and creative mind. To educate, to enlighten and to open new doors – these are the main principles and missions of Scenolab.
